As part of the second edition of the live webinar series “SYMBINAR 2.0”, which focuses on the ideas of Reset, Resilience, and Resurgence we hosted, Ms. Shreya Sachdev, Head of Marketing and Strategic Initiatives at PUMA Sports India Pvt. Ltd. She spoke on the topic “Power of Marketing-In the Time of Crisis”

 

Ms. Shreya explained how marketing is not just about being creative and unique but understanding consumer behavior, adapting to the changing times to discover new opportunities, and thinking out of the box.

The session was very interactive as she conducted live polls with reference to the strategies adopted by PUMA in climbing up the ladder in times of crisis and laid emphasis on the importance of communication in order to understand the new lifestyle patterns of its target customers. She extrapolated that how important it was to create content that was unique, real, and engaging across its website and social media platforms that resonate with the target audience.

Realigning priorities was also one of the steps taken by PUMA that helped them create visibility by showcasing sports personalities like one of us, for instance even though they are at home, they are active, working-out and likewise, we as consumers can be part of it and PUMA as a brand understands the vibe and need of the customers. She elaborated on how PUMA tried to reach out to the corporate customers who have been at home for a while and may want to invest in PUMA loungers as they are more comfortable and easygoing.

There were very interesting questions from students about the online content, marketing strategies wherein she enlightened us about how they look at Google Trends, Amazon, or Flipkart and gather experience from customers who are not PUMA centric and understand their point of view towards sports apparels and footwear. We had a very exciting time interacting with her and got to know how PUMA was the game-changer in these unprecedented times. We would be delighted to have Ms. Shreya onboard again and involve in more such engagements in the future.
