Bihu Dance Performance

SPIC-MACAY (Society for the promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture Amongst Youth) was hosted by SIBM- Hyderabad on September 09, 2019 at 7 PM for the presentation of the traditional dance form of Assam- Bihu by Mr. Ranjit Kumar Gogoi and team.
The event started with the lamp-lighting session by the student-affairs, Mr. Raghavendra BT and the student-council president, Mr. Paul Abraham. This was followed by an awe-inspiring Bihu dance performance by Mr. Ranjit Gogoi and his team of artists. Mr. Gogoi has been a performer at many prestigious events in India and abroad, including the ‘Indian campaign for Olympics 2012’ held in London. He was the chief choreographer for the inaugural and closing ceremony of the 33rd National Games, Asian Athletic Prix and Asian Car Rally.
The mesmerizing dance performance was followed by a brief description of the instruments, props and costume used during the showcase. The event ended with the audience joining the artists on stage for a ‘Give and Take’ session wherein the students learnt a few steps of the Bihu dance-form from the artists and performed in cohesion, as the conclusion of the event.
