SYMBIOSIS INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY (SIU) organized International Students Day at its Hyderabad Campus. The event was organized on the occasion of the 81 st Birthday of Dr.S.B.Mujumdar, eminent educationist, founder & President Symbiosis and Hon. Chancellor, of Symbiosis International University. His Excellency Hassan Nourian, Consulate General, Islamic Republic of Iran, graced the occasion as Chief Guest.
The event started with the Blood Donation Camp, which saw students and staff from Symbiosis Institute of Business Management (SIBM-H) and Symbiosis Law School(SLS- H) voluntarily coming forward in large numbers to espouse noble cause of donating Blood. More than 200 units of Blood were collected in this camp, which was organized in association with Indian Red Cross Society.
The International Students Day celebrations began with invocation, followed by Welcome address by Dr.Ravikumar Jain, Director SIBM-Hyderabad and Dr.Mirza Ilyas Baig, Director SLS, Hyderabad. The Chief Guest His Excellency Hassan Nourian, Consulate General, Islamic Republic of Iran addressed the students and advised them to promote International co-operation among student community, which he opined would lead to peace, and prosperity in the World. He also emphasized on the need for active partnership between Symbiosis and reputed Iranian Universities not only in terms of education at UG, PG & Ph.D level but also active collaboration with Corporates, various Governmental and Non-Governmental organizations in areas of Applied Research, Training & Consultancy.
His Excellency commended Symbiosis International University for doing yeoman service in promoting International Understanding by imparting world class education to thousands of students from more than 80 countries across the globe.
The event was truly International with active participation of around 100 students from Asia, Africa & Middle Eastern Countries. The event culminated with cultural programmes presented by National & International students.
