Event Name: Induction Program – June 12th to 18th 2023 for MBA Batch 2023-25
Objective: To introduce the students with the institute and the Hyderabad Campus of SIBM.
Outcome: To Orient the students about the institute, the academic, rules and regulations of the institute, and the facilities provided and the protocols they need to follow in the campus.

Dauntless, The Sports and Wellness Committee of SIBM - Hyderabad, organized captivating yoga event for the students of the batch 2023-2025 throughout the whole Induction Week starting from the Day 2: 13th June 2023. The event aimed to promote holistic well-being and foster a balanced lifestyle through the practice of yoga. The sessions were led by experienced yoga instructors, ensuring a rejuvenating and enlightening experience for all participants.
Day 1: 12th June 2023 (Inaugural of Induction Program)The students of the batch of 2023-2025 were given a warm welcome on the first day of the Induction program. The event started at 10.00 a.m. by asserting the motto of Symbiosis International University “Vasudhaivaka Kutumbakam”, where the world is one family. The event was inaugurated by honouring the esteemed dignitaries, the Guests of Honour, Mr. Sivamallikarjuna Reddy, Founder & CEO, Aodh Lifesciences, and Ms. Shubhra Maheshwari, Director, Bluestones Group, Vocational and Financial Literacy Head, FICCI FLO.

The event began with showcasing the journey of Symbiosis International (Deemed) University through the video. Post this, the dignitaries were felicitated, followed by the Director’s address to the batch of 2023-2025, where Dr. K. P. Venugopala Rao emphasized the importance of discipline, academics, and attaining expertise, thereby urging the students to make the most of this MBA life and enjoy their time. He also went on to mention the impressive diversity that is there in the upcoming batch. He asked students to be academically potent to sharpen their skills and become corporate-ready.

After the Director’s Address, the Director of Symbiosis Law School, Hyderabad, took to the stage and through his words motivated them to be headstrong and confident in every step of their lives.

Following this address, the guests of honour, Mr. Sivamallikarjuna Reddy, CA Ms. Shubhra Maheshwari, took to the stage to address the gathering.
Mr. Sivamallikarjuna Reddy mentioned the need to be persistent and carry on with dreams, without letting the future hurting their goals, he mentioned that failures are part of the journey in the careers.
CA Ms. Shubhra Maheshwari, mentioned that it is important to stretch themselves and become a better version of themselves as good is no more enough in this corporate world.

The inaugural session ended with a vote of thanks delivered By Dr.Shyamsunder Chitta, Deputy Director of Symbiosis Institute of Business Management. He reiterated the importance of Discipline and persistent hard work in MBA.

The Ice - Breaking Session was conducted by Dr. Nidhi Bandaru, Founder of Dishi Consultants, and Ms. KaveetaAbbichandani, trainer and coach. The commencement of this particular session aimed to welcome the new batch and provide a space to the new joiners for free communication.

Students enjoyed this particular session a lot as there were a few games planned for them to make them comfortable and so that they could interact with their peers a bit more. The students were allowed to talk to each other.

The Ice Breaking session was followed by the address by Mr. M Srinivas, Incharge- Student Welfare, Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Hyderabad.
He further reiterated the importance of having discipline and persistent hard work. He also shared how important it is for someone to be a part of a club and committee. He went on to share how clubs and committees help the students grow.

After this, Mr. Aditya Shettigar, President of the Student Council, SIBM- Hyderabad, and Ms. Tanshi Agarwal, Vice President of the Student Council, SIBM- Hyderabad, addressed the gathering and shared what is expected of them during MBA and shared the glimpse of what all clubs and committees do.

After the inaugural session, the student activities took place at the Convention Hall from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. These were conducted by Hashtag- The PR and Web Committee, Inksleuths – The Literary Committee, Shakti – The Women Development and Social Responsibility Cell, and SCEI Samarthya – The Entrepreneurship Cell.
The second day of the induction program for the batch 2023-2025 was started off with the address of Dr. Shyamsunder Chitta, Deputy Director, SIBM Hyderabad, where he spoke about the institute functionalities, processes, procedures and protocols regarding examinations.

The students were also addressed by Dr. Sripathi Kalvakolanu, Assistant Professor- Human Resources and Faculty Incharge- Academics, where he spoke about the academic nuances and criteria the students need to follow in order to maintain a smooth academic flow.

They were then addressed by Dr. V.K. Satya Prasad, Associate Professor- Marketing and Faculty Incharge- Learning Resource Centre (LRC); who enlightened the students about the importance of continuous learning and introducing them to the LRC along with the people associated with it.

The batch was then addressed by Col. Balaji Dayal, Senior Campus Administrator, Symbiosis Hyderabad Campus, who introduced them to all the facilities and amenities available to them on the campus along with the campus rules, regulations and protocols. This helped the students get familiarised with the campus environment which is going to help figure their way out through the campus. The students also got to know the people to reach out to in case a problem arises as he also introduced his team to them.

Post lunch, the students were addressed by Ms. Chrysolyte Sanamanda, Executive Director, Red Rope Movement, who gave them insights about Corporate Social Responsibility and how it is important in today’s corporate world.

The students then moved on to taking Value-Added Course, on MS Excel and usage of the Library Portal of the LRC.

Student activities were held in the evening by Pratibimb – The photography Club, and Melange – The Organizing Committee and Grafitti – The Art and Creativity Club held their event at Lecture Theater from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

The students of the batch 2023-2025 were given a warm welcome on the third day of the Induction Program. The event started at 10.00 a.m. with the felicitation of Mr. Vaibhav Jakodia, Director & Regional Head, Consulting & Valuations Advisory Services, CBRE, Andhra Pradesh & Telangana region.

Mr. Vaibhav Jakodia captivated the audience with his insightful address, providing them with a captivating preview of the corporate world that awaits them in the near future. The next speaker for the day was Mr. Shivanand Mohan, Head of Global Learning & Development, MSN Laboratories.His unique way of imparting knowledge was intriguing and highly informative.

From the moment Mr. Mohan took the stage, his passion for learning and development was palpable. He engaged the audience through his dynamic presentation style, weaving in real-life examples and practical insights that resonated with everyone present.
Beyond his extensive knowledge, Mr. Mohan's enthusiasm and energy were contagious. He created a dynamic and engaging environment, encouraging active participation from the audience. Attendees were not only passive listeners but active contributors, as Mr. Mohan fostered an interactive session where questions were addressed, and ideas were exchanged freely.

The third speaker for the day was Dr. Ridhi Rani, Assistant Professor, Human Resources and Faculty In-Charge of Shakti- Women Development And Social Responsibility Cell, SIBM Hyderabad. Her enlightening speech centered on the significance of gender diversity and its profound impact on the corporate world. Dr. Rani's presentation was not only informative but also included an inspiring video that effectively demonstrated the importance of this crucial topic.

The final Virtual speaker for the day was Dr. Rahul Naik, a representative of the Symbiosis Centre for Health Care. His insightful presentation centered around the crucial topic of maintaining proper health and well-being. Dr. Naik's speech not only highlighted the importance of prioritizing one's health but also provided valuable insights and practical strategies to achieve and sustain a healthy lifestyle.

Having Dr. Naik as the final speaker added significant value to the event, leaving a lasting impression on the audience. His expertise and dedication to promoting health and well-being served as a reminder for everyone to prioritize their personal well-being and create a healthier and more balanced life. From 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, the Convention Hall hosted a range of student club activities which were hosted by DARC – The Discipline and Anti Ragging Committee, CoEe – Centre of Research. MessComm – The Mess Committee and Antardhwani – The Cultural Club.

The students of the batch of 2023-2025 were given a warm welcome on the fourth day of the Induction program. The event started at 10.00 a.m. by welcoming Ms. Sucheta Rao, Psychologist and counsellor of Symbiosis Center for Emotional Wellbeing.
In an effort to prioritize mental health and well-being on campus Ms. Rao delivered an insightful address to the new batch. The address aimed to raise awareness about mental health issues, reduce stigma, and provide practical strategies for maintaining good mental well-being. By promoting understanding, reducing stigma, and fostering a supportive environment, everyone can work together to ensure the well-being of those in need. The talk concluded with a call to action, urging everyone to prioritize their mental health and extend support to those facing hardships. With continued efforts, Symbiosis Centre for Emotional Wellbeing, Symbiosis Hyderabad, can serve as spaces that prioritize mental health and empower individuals to thrive academically, emotionally, and socially.

To continue with the induction, we welcomed our esteemed guest Dr. Poulami Ghosh, followed by felicitation by Dr. Ridhi Rani, Assistant Professor, Human Resources and faculty-in-charge Shakti – Women Development and Social Responsibility Cell.
Dr. Ghosh shed light on the importance of understanding and addressing gender-related issues in society. The session aimed to create awareness about gender inequality, challenge stereotypes, and promote a more inclusive and equitable environment. The talk highlighted that gender is a social construct and goes beyond biological differences. The speaker emphasized the need to respect and acknowledge diverse gender identities. A crucial aspect of the talk focused on challenging gender stereotypes that perpetuate inequality and discrimination. By encouraging critical thinking and questioning societal norms, the talk aimed to empower individuals to challenge and redefine gender stereotypes. The talk concluded with a call to action, inspiring the students to actively engage in conversations, educate themselves, and advocate for gender equality in their respective spheres of influence. Through continuous efforts and awareness, a gender-sensitive society can be achieved, where everyone can thrive and contribute to a more inclusive and world.
Towards the end of the 4th day of Induction, the batch was address by Mr. Nicolas Daniel Ross, Head Corporate Relations & MDP and the Career Assistance Team who briefed the batch about their work and provided the updated placement reports and figures.

After the talk, the batch dispersed for their session on Academic Writing and MS Excel. Following the lively activities of the clubs and committees, the academic club took the stage at the lecture theatre from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM for the student activity. The event featured engaging activities by Humanalaya, Opsera, 7PM and Mint, attracting participants who were eager to explore intellectual pursuits and broaden their knowledge.

The event started with the address of an esteemed guest, Mr. Manish Maheshwari, Director & Head- Portfolio Management Group, OxanePartners; who mainly focused on the point that it is mainly one’s experience that teach the most important lessons rather than what is taught in textbooks.

The gathering was next addressed by Ms.Gayatri Devi Bellap, Senior Manager, Human Resources, Skandhanshi Retail Pvt Ltd; who focused on the importance of self-branding and how choosing the right specialisation is essential.

The students then learnt the importance of proper waste and resource management in the corporate world from Mr. Manikprabhu Dhanorkar, Deputy Head, Symbiosis Centre for Waste Resource Management.

After the address of the guests was over, the students went on to take the Value-Added Courses on MS Excel and Data Analysis. The event ended with some of the alumni interacting with the batch followed by the fresher’s party.
There was alumni interaction session from 6PM onwards at the auditorium by Acord – The Alumni Coordination Team. The alumni spoke about their experiences in campus and also their experience in the corporate world. They expressed that it was nostalgic to be on campus looking at the freshers batch

The Sixth day of the Induction Week for the batch 2023-25 was held on 17th June, 2023. The event started at 9:30am with the Guest Talk by Mr. Uday Shankar Peyetti, Vice President: Head-Sales & Corporate Social Responsibility. He enlightened the students on the importance of Waste Management, the social and the environmental impact of the waste generated due to the industries and the ways that the problems can be resolved. The students were enthusiastic about the ways they can help the environment and had a lot of queries regarding the same during the Q&A session.

It was followed by the briefing about the importance of Recreation, Wellness, Health and of a happy and healthy campus by Mr. Ravinder – Gym Incharge, Recreation and Wellness Center, SIBM Hyderabad. The students got to know the importance staying healthy and happy so that they can get the best out of the offerings of the college.
The briefing session was followed by the Guest Talk by Mr. Vikram Jain, Trade Commissioner, Canadian High Commission, Hyderabad. He discussed the importance of Internationalisation, how it is not merely about studying abroad or interacting with students coming from different backgrounds, but a mindset – a way of thinking that transcends borders and embraces diversity. The talk gave the students a broader view of the horizon which will increase their learning and educational experience.

InkSleuths – The Literary Committee was in-charge of anchoring, Pratibimb -The Photography Club was responsible for covering the whole event, Hashtag - The PR and Web Committee was responsible for updating the social media and website of the college and Melange - The Organizing Committee was responsible for the technical and backstage support throughout the Induction Week from 12th to 17th June 2023, whereas Dauntless – The Sports and Wellness Committee was responsible for organizing Yoga from 13th to 17th June 2023. The corporates and alumni were invited by CIC and Alumni Coordination teams.
