Shakti Says 2.0 was conducted by SIBM-H with the theme of “Le Reve”, which means   the future   belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams. The core philosophy of Symbiosis International (Deemed) University is ‘Vasudhaiava Kutumbakam’. In pursuance of this and as part of its university’s emphasis on inspiring the future managers, the club invited speakers from different fields to share their experiences. This event not only inspired the students to dream big but also proved beyond doubt that anything is   possible for the young minds.

Invite for the Event 

Shakti Says was conducted on January 23, 2020 for both the batches of students MBA Program
(18-20 and 19-21) from 1:30 P.M. to 04:40 PM.

Event Flow: -

  • The event began with the lighting of the lamp by Dr. K. P. Venugopala Rao, Deputy Director with faculty members and our esteemed guests being presently followed by felicitation of the guests and are addressed.
  • Dr. Ridhi Rani, Faculty In-charge, (WDC and ISR) shared with the participants about the Shakti says and briefly introduced and welcomed the guests. 
  • First speaker was Mrs. Payal Kamti, an author, a freelance content writer, proof reader and a book blogger.
  • Second speaker was Mrs. Kavitha Kota, a Senior Manager L&D at GGK tech.
  • Third Guest speaker was Ms. Jahnavi Sriperamburu also known as the mysterious mountain girl.
  • Fourth Guest Speaker was Mr Krishna Arun Sharma, a Practising advocate from the Guwahati High Court.
  • The event ended with an “Vote of Thanks” by the Outgoing Head of WDC-Ms. Priyal Vithlani and recital of national Anthem.

Mrs. Payal Kamti began her career by working in HR and her professional experience as a freelance writer involved writing for Likha Pre School, Ahmedabad (October 2019 – till date). The Dowager Bride

She has authored the book Sondai: The Dowager Bride.

She started off with an interactive session by asking the audience about their favourite genres. And she gifted her latest book “Sondai: The Dowager Bride” to the one who gave the best answer. She spoke about how her grandmother became an inspiration for her to become an author.  Further, she described her journey of becoming an author and defined her choices which were indeed inspiring.

Ms. Kavita Kota is a perennial learner with diverse experiences in multiple industries. An educator with core understanding of foundational and prevailing upskilling trends, she is a cognitive behaviourist with a broad spectrum of focuses, i.e., a passionate speaker, an avid reader and a great listener.

She lives by the motto: “Never touch anything with half your heart”. Accordingly, she inspires the students to pursue their dreams whole heartedly. Then, Ms. Kavitha began her interactive session by asking the audience few questions. One of them was to describe her personality in one word. And she continued talking about her career choices and how she overcame the obstacles she faced. In the end she mentioned that individuals should always be able to answer questions like “Who am I?  and How am I?”. She concluded her speech by saying “Our body can be captivated but mind is always free”.

Ms. Jaahnavi Sriperambuduru

 The third speaker of the day Ms. Jaahnavi Sriperambuduru, fondly known as  The Mysterious Mountain Girl, an Indian mountaineer. She spoke about her journey of mountaineering and how and why she started it when she was 10 months old.  She chose mountaineering as a profession to come out of her comfort zone and explained how climbing mountains gave her satisfaction. She underlined the importance of dreaming big, which makes the people put their best efforts and end up with satisfaction on accomplishment of results. Finally, she administered a pledge which said “I am amazing, I can do anything, I am ready, I love myself”.

Mr. Krishna Arun Sharma, a practising advocate from the Guwahati High Court and currently doing a one-year Urban- Rural fellowship with an NGO, Goonj. He shared about his journey with Goonj. He spoke about the various initiative of Goonj   with specific reference to Innovative technologies for Waste Recycling and how the organization helps deprived sections of the society to live their dreams. It helps in generating livelihood in the villages and empowering women in rural areas with special regard to menstrual hygiene. His talk ended with showing a video about the Founder of Goonj, Mr. Anshu Gupta and his vision for the society.

The event concluded with the “Vote of Thanks” from the outgoing head of WDC, Ms. Priyal Vithlani and recital of National Anthem.

Overall, the event was a total success from the point of view of students as they could understand how important it is not only to dream big but also realise the same.
