First four toppers in the order of merit of every batch of every programme in every semester/ annually will be awarded the Merit Scholarship.
The Scholarship recipients are granted concession in Academic Fees of the semester, applicable to all full time Post Graduate and Under Graduate degree programmes of all the Constituents of SIU, as below:
The scholarship amount will not be paid directly to the students. It will be transferred by the University directly to the Constituent, for the adjustment in academic fee of the following semester.
In case the student is a topper in the last semester of the programme, the scholarship amount will be transferred to the student’s bank account as per available records.
Symbiosis International University has initiated a special scholarship scheme for the graduates from Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) who join the MBA programmes at SIU.
i. A 20% fee waiver for the entire programme (for two years @ 20% per year) is awarded in the form of a Scholarship to the IIT graduates.
ii. The continuation of the fee waiver for the second year of the MBA programme is subject to the fulfilment of eligibility condition no. 2, mentioned below and would amount to 20% of the academic fee alone (not including Hostel fee and Mess fee).
i. An IIT Graduate should appear for SNAP and the subsequent selection process.
ii. He should join any of the MBA programmes of SIU through merit.
iii. If the student is selected for this scholarship, the academic fee waiver will be continued for the second year of the MBA programme, provided:
(i) he/she does not have any backlogs (internal or external) in the first year;
(ii) he/she does not have any disciplinary misconduct; and
(iii) he/she shall have 7 out of 10 CGPA at the end of Semester II.
i. Five (5) students will be chosen based on the total composite score (SNAP + GE PIWAT score).
If two or more students have the same total composite score (SNAP + GE PIWAT score), then the student with the higher SNAP score will qualify for the Scholarship and if the SNAP score is identical, then the student with the higher graduation percentage will be considered for the scholarship.
The Scholarship Amount will be remitted to the Constituent. The scholarship amount for the first year is adjusted in the Second Semester fee and the amount for the Second Year is adjusted in the fourth Semester fee of the student.
i. If a recipient of the Scholarship is found guilty of gross misconduct his/her case after due warning shall be reported by the Constituent to the Department of Student Welfare for withdrawal of the said Scholarship.
ii. If the student cancels his/her admission, then the Scholarship will be withdrawn and the scholarship amount disbursed, will have to be returned by the student to SIU.
iii. If a Scholarship holder withdraws or cancels his/her admission, then that Scholarship will be discontinued for him/her and the next eligible student will be granted the same Scholarship.
*In case the student does not repay, the University shall have the right to recover the said disbursed amount from the security deposit, hostel fees, mess fees etc.

Special Scholarship for Foreign Nationals only as below
This policy does not cover the following categories:
i) This scholarship is provided exclusively to one female candidate who tops University Entrance Test viz, SNAP and one female candidate who tops amongst the SET/SLAT/SITEEE/SEED respectively and is admitted to one of Full-time programmes at the respective Constituent of SIU.
ii) The student will not be eligible for the award of this scholarship, in case a disciplinary action has been initiated / conducted against her during the first six (6) months. In such cases, the next female student in the merit list, will be awarded the scholarship who has secured admission to any full-time Postgraduate/Undergraduate degree programme of Symbiosis International (Deemed University)
Number of Scholarships = Two (2)
Amount of Scholarship for a Post Graduate Candidate = One-time payment of Rs.75,000/-
Amount of Scholarship for an Undergraduate Candidate = One-time payment of Rs. 25,000/-
i) The scholarship will be given to a girl student securing the highest marks in SNAP test and admitted to any full time Post Graduate (PG) programme.
ii) The one-time scholarship amount of Rs.75,000/- would be paid to the Constituent where the student gets admission and the amount would be adjusted against the second instalment of fee.
iii) In case a student is eligible for more than one scholarship / free ship by Symbiosis Society Foundation, she shall be awarded only one scholarship / free ship as per her preference.
iv) In case the topper does not avail this scholarship, it will be given to the next eligible candidate.
i) The scholarship will be given to a girl student securing the highest percentage from amongst SET/ SLAT/SITEEE /SEED and admitted to any full time undergraduate programme.
ii) The one-time scholarship amount of Rs. 25,000/- will be paid to the Constituent where the student gets admission and the amount will be adjusted against the second instalment of fees.
iii) In case a student is eligible for more than one scholarship / free ship by Symbiosis Society Foundation, she shall be awarded only one scholarship / free ship as per her preference.
iv) In case the topper does not avail this scholarship, it will be given to the next eligible candidate.
The Department of Student Welfare will collect data of the SNAP, SET/SLAT/SITEEE/SEED female toppers every year from the Symbiosis Test Secretariat.
The data will be verified by the Eligibility Section and Finance Department of the University and will be sent to the Constituent for confirming the status of admission and certifying that the student does not have any disciplinary case against themselves.
i) Department of Student Welfare will nominate five (5) females scoring highest in SNAP (PG) and amongst SET/SLAT/SITEEE & SEED (UG) based on the list received from the Symbiosis Test Secretariat and seek approval for the top scorer from the University
ii) Constituents shall verify and confirm that the eligible candidate has not been selected for any other scholarship and also does not have any disciplinary misconduct.
iii) Constituents will be informed about the final nominees.
iv) The timelines for the entire process of selection are as under:

i) If two or more girl students top the SNAP with equal scores, then the student with the higher score in GEPIWAT will be considered for the scholarship.
ii) If there is tie at the GEPIWAT level also, then the score of their UG programme will be considered for the award of this scholarship.
If two or more girls top from amongst SET/SLAT/SITEEE/SEED with equal scores, then the weighted average of their Std. X and Std. XII class grades will be considered for a tie breaker and the highest scorer will be the final nominee.
The Scholarship amount will be paid to the Constituent and they in turn, will adjust the amount in the second instalment of fees, to be paid by the student.
Scholarship will be withdrawn under following circumstances:
i) if the student awarded Jayatee Deshmukh Scholarship cancels her admission before completion of programme;
ii) if a recipient of the scholarship is found guilty of gross misconduct and the name of the recipient is reported by the Constituent to the Department of Student Welfare, then the Department of Student Welfare may choose to follow the process for revoking the scholarship based on the misconduct.
iii) If the selected student opts to withdraw her name from the nomination list or before remittance of the scholarship, then the next eligible girl student gets that scholarship.
*In case the student cancels her admission (except under compassionate grounds) then she is liable to repay the disbursed scholarship amount. In case she does not repay, the University shall have the right to recover the said disbursed amount from the security deposit, hostel fees, mess fees etc.
