AI & ML Boot Camp

Overview:

Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Hyderabad, in collaboration with the E&ICT Academy, IIT Kanpur, successfully conducted a week-long AI & ML Boot Camp from 26th August to 31st August 2024. The Boot Camp aimed at providing students with a deep understanding of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML), preparing them for the emerging challenges and opportunities in the data-driven business landscape.

Objectives:

• To equip students with essential skills in AI and ML to meet the demands of Industry 4.0 and 5.0.
• To offer hands-on learning experiences using real-world datasets.
• To enable students to understand the application of AI and ML across various business domains.
• To bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application.

Program Highlights:

The AI & ML Boot Camp was an intensive program with 30 hours of sessions over 6 days.

The Boot Camp covered:

• Fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning
• Data pre-processing, model building, and evaluation
• Introduction to supervised and unsupervised learning
• Deep learning and neural networks
• Real-life case studies and industry applications
• Python and ML libraries

The sessions were delivered by industry experts from E&ICT Academy, IIT Kanpur.

Inaugural Session:

The Boot Camp commenced with an inaugural address by Dr. KP Venugopal, Director of SIBM-Hyderabad, who emphasized the growing importance of AI and ML in shaping the future of business. He stressed the need for management graduates to be adept in these technologies to stay competitive in the modern corporate world.

The keynote speakers, Mr. Shantam Doda and Mr. Niraj Tanwar, introduced the participants to the evolution of AI and ML and highlighted how these technologies are transforming industries globally.

Key Learning Outcomes:

• AI and ML Fundamentals: Participants gained a thorough understanding of the core concepts of AI and ML, including algorithms, models, and data processing techniques.
• Hands-on Projects: Students engaged in practical projects, building and evaluating machine learning models using Python and real-world datasets.
• Real-world Application: Case studies demonstrated how AI and ML are being utilized in industries like finance, healthcare, marketing, and operations.
• Industry Insights: The trainers provided insights into how businesses are leveraging AI and ML to gain a competitive advantage, preparing students for future job roles.

Participation:

A total of 120 students from MBA-III semesters participated in the Boot Camp.

Participants were divided into teams for project work, and each team presented their findings on the last day of the program.

Certificates were awarded to participants upon successful completion of the Boot Camp.

Feedback:

The participants expressed high levels of satisfaction with the Boot Camp. They appreciated the blend of theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience, which helped them understand the practical applications of AI and ML. The interactive sessions with experts allowed students to clarify their doubts and engage in meaningful discussions.

The AI & ML Boot Camp was a tremendous success, providing students with the knowledge and skills required to navigate the complexities of AI and ML in the business world. The collaboration between SIBM-Hyderabad and E&ICT Academy, IIT Kanpur ensured that the participants received high-quality training aligned with the latest industry standards.
