Events of CoRe for the year 2021-22
Induction Programme (Analytica): The objective of this event is to understand student nominal interest and understanding of Research Topic, framing Questionnaire and Target group reach. This will also help us to create proper database of interested students who are interested in Research. We will select some particular Research topic wherein those topics will be shared with the participants and they will initially go through the topics, discuss amongst themselves and then frame relevant Questionnaire after thorough discussion. Once done they will share the Questionnaire to the relevant target market, and a stipulated time will be given for it. Post floating the Questionnaire and after the completion of time, we will rate the participants (Team) based on the number of Responses, design of Questionnaire, and use of Relevant Research tools.
Guest lecture on “How can a fresher get a good publication?”: The guest was Prof. Jayantha N Dewasiri, The Chartered Institute of Management, UK has recently accredited him as a Chartered Manager and a Fellow Institution Member and Professor Department of Accountancy and Finance, Faculty of Management Studies, Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka. The guest lecture was held on 16th September 2021 at 1:30 pm and ended at 3:30 pm on the ZOOM platform. All the participants for this session were 1st-semester students of batch 2021-23. The key objective of this session was to give the students who don’t have any research background to give a better understanding of the journal selection and a clear picture regarding the manuscript writing process.
Academic Week 1.0 Guest lecture: Guest Lecture by Dr. Atul Shiva who would assist the students in understanding Research better but sharing his knowledge on the topic "Identify Research Problem & Ideate Research". Dr. Atul Shiva is a certified specialist on PLS-SEM from Technische University of Hamburg, Northern Institute of Technology, Germany. Presently he is Faculty at the University School of Business, Chandigarh University, Mohali. He is also a guest editor in the International Journal of Business and Globalization.

Academic Week 1.0 Game: The objective of this event was to make students understand how to work on their literature review and find their research topic. The committee came up with a few sets of keywords which were shared with the participants (Teams) and they have searched for relevant papers using the research paper resources that are available in the SIU library portal. And then they had to come up with a research topic and then they were asked them to create a document with all their reference links and the topic they decided.
Focus group Discussions: Focus group discussions were made to open to students for enhancing their research knowledge across various domains of businesses. Also to help them in understanding how different activities were interlinked in the course of action in real time world.
Academic Week 2.0: CoRe in collaboration with Academic Vertical of SIBM-H organized a panel discussion session on "Functional Adaptation of AI & ML Learning". This was organized with the objective of students getting a real time experience of gaining knowledge about businesses from real time corporates who belong to four arms of business and putting forward their thoughts regarding AI/ML.
Firande Event (Eventia) : The main objective of the event was to understand the approach of the participants towards the problems that they have identified and to check how feasible were the solutions which they provided.
Quiz (Quizzes- link to be shared via email) Fun round where participant’s approach towards
different scenarios will be analyzed. Get yourself brushed with different business scenarios!

Problem Identification (Email) Based on the responses from the quiz, A subsequent sector
and specialization will be sent to participants via email. The participants are requested to
submit the problems that they have discovered from the given scenario after thorough
research. Elimination is involved.
Presentation Round Shortlisted teams from Round 2 will be having a presentation round
where they have to come up with the solutions for the problem communicated to them after
round 2. The research perspective of their presentation will be evaluated by the jury.
Workshop: A basic research writing workshop by “Excellence brings success” was facilitated by CoRe in Academic block for 6 days. The main objective was to ensure that the students can get maximum benefits from workshop without the need to pay for the same.
