The workshop aimed to equip the MBA students of the 2024-2026 batch with effective strategies and techniques for job interview preparation and managing placement- related challenges.

On 19 th August 2025, the Symbiosis Institute of Business Management - Hyderabad (SIBM- H) had the privilege of hosting Mr. Debashish Ghosh, former Senior Vice President and country human resources head at Berkadia and career coach, for an insightful and comprehensive corporate readiness session. The session aimed to equip MBA students of the 2024-2026 batch with the essential skills and knowledge to craft compelling resumes, effective strategies and techniques for job interview preparation and managing placement- related challenges.

Mr. Debashish Ghosh highlighted the focus on several key areas: enhancing resume writing, practicing mock interviews, and enhancing communication skills.

He guided students on aligning their skills and experiences with the specific requirements of the job market, emphasizing the need for customization based on the targeted industry.

The session emphasized the importance of showcasing achievements and quantifiable impact on resumes. Mr. Debashish Ghosh provided practical tips on how to articulate accomplishments in a manner that stands out, thereby capturing the attention of potential employers.

Mr. Debashish Ghosh shared practical techniques for addressing challenging questions and situations during interviews. Here are some key strategies he emphasized:

• Understand the Question: Take a moment to fully comprehend the question before responding. This helps in providing a thoughtful and relevant answer.
• Stay Calm and Composed: Maintain your composure, even if the question is difficult. Taking a deep breath and pausing briefly can help you gather your thoughts.
• Be Honest and Authentic: If you don’t know the answer, it’s better to admit it rather than fumble through an incorrect response. Honesty can be appreciated by interviewers.
• Highlight Problem-Solving Skills: Focus on how you approached and resolved the difficult situation. Emphasize your problem-solving abilities and the positive outcomes of your actions.
• Leverage AI-powered Platforms: Use AI tools to receive personalized coaching and data-driven feedback throughout the job preparation process. This includes analyzing job descriptions, optimizing resumes and cover letters with relevant keywords, and conducting in-depth research on companies and industries.

Participants were enlightened by the workshop as they got to know the answers or methods of answering frequently asked questions in a confident manner. Students were given tips on how to manage stress and anxiety throughout the process and how to stay calm and composed on D-Day.

Additionally, the session served as a value addition to several students who had queries regarding the interview rounds. Moreover, it was an insightful session on how to overcome the fear of failure.

The session was highly interactive, with students actively engaging in discussions. They shared personal experiences, fears, and concerns, creating an open and supportive atmosphere.

The corporate intervention workshop by Mr. Debashish Ghosh at SIBM-H proved to be an enriching experience for second-year MBA students. By giving them tips on how to prepare and to utilize time in an efficient way. The students have been given a head start on preparing themselves for the upcoming placement season
