Craft Workshop at Government High School, Azampura


Objective

The primary objective of the visit was to conduct an Art and Craft Workshop for students of Government High School No. 1, Amberpet (Azampura), belonging to classes 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th. The workshop aimed to encourage creativity, enhance fine motor skills, promote experiential learning, and provide students with hands-on exposure to craft-based activities such as greeting card making. The initiative also sought to foster confidence, teamwork, and enthusiasm for learning among co-educational students from diverse backgrounds.

The workshop was successfully conducted with active participation from the students. The children displayed remarkable creativity, enthusiasm, and quick learning abilities. They independently created innovative greeting cards using the materials provided. The interaction created a joyful and engaging learning environment. Team Shakti visited Government High School No. 1, Amberpet (Azampura) to conduct an Art and Craft Workshop for students studying in classes 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th. The student group comprised co-educational participants from diverse backgrounds. The visit was planned with the intention of encouraging creativity, improving fine motor skills, and promoting experiential learning through hands-on activities.

Upon arrival, the team distributed essential stationery items including pencils, erasers, sharpeners, and all required materials for making greeting cards. This ensured that every student could participate actively without any resource constraints. The workshop was conducted in the presence of two school teachers and three representatives from the NGO Sayodhya, whose cooperation and guidance were instrumental in managing the students and facilitating smooth coordination.

The session began with a demonstration on how to design and make greeting cards. Students were guided step-by-step, after which they were encouraged to add their own creative ideas. The students showed remarkable interest and eagerness to learn. They quickly understood the instructions and displayed originality by creating unique designs. Many students went beyond the taught patterns, showcasing their imagination and confidence.

Midway through the workshop, refreshments including Mazaa, Oreo biscuits, and Munch chocolates were distributed. The refreshments were warmly received by the students and contributed to maintaining an energetic and joyful atmosphere throughout the session.

After completion of the activity, photographs of the students' greeting cards were taken to document their work. Team Shakti also assisted the school staff in collecting and organizing the completed cards, which will be used for evaluation in an upcoming art and craft competition organized by the school.
