To conduct a Debate Activity and give students an opportunity to express their opinions, hone their debating skills, and inculcate the culture of a healthy debate.
As a part of the debate activity, the students of SIBM-H were given an opportunity to compete against their peers to hone their debating skills, thus bringing in a culture of constructive debate and in-class learning.
InkSleuths-The Literary Committee of SIBM Hyderabad organized, under the guidance of LRC, a Debate Activity on 17th November 2025. Dr. Shivoham Singh, Associate Professor - Operations, Faculty in charge Cell of skills -Pragti, SIBM Hyderabad and Dr. Debanjan Nag- Assistant Professor - Human Resources, SIBM Hyderabad.
The Debate Activity consisted of two rounds and featured five pairs of participants, who tackled thought-provoking topics centered on economy and management. The session moderators insightful guidance and impartial judgment ensured the debate proceeded seamlessly.
Out of 5 teams that participated, 2 teams qualified for the final round and the topic for the final round was “A four day work week is unrealistic for emerging economies like India”

The highlight of the evening was the announcement of the winning pair. Their clear reasoning and confident presentation won them the title, earning loud cheers from the audience. Everyone agreed it was a refreshing change from their usual academic routine.
The debate gave participants a great chance to show off their knowledge and critical thinking skills. It also showed how InkSleuths is dedicated to encouraging learning, meaningful discussions, and a love for literature.
The event ended with a heartfelt thank you to the moderators, participants, and audience, leaving everyone inspired and excited for more such events in the future.
