He further discussed how change management has gained unprecedented importance in recent years, driven by rapid technological advancements, globalization, and evolving customer expectations. Organizations are no longer operating in stable environments but are constantly adapting to disruptions.

The discussion then moved towards organizational transformation, where he explained that transformation is not merely about implementing new systems or processes but involves a holistic shift in culture, mindset, and ways of working. He highlighted that transformation initiatives require strong leadership, clear vision, and effective execution.

One of the key themes of the session was that people are critical to the success of transformation. Mr. Mohanty stressed that despite advanced technologies and strategies, transformation efforts often fail because organizations neglect the human aspect. Resistance to change, lack of communication, and insufficient engagement are common barriers.

He also discussed why transformation initiatives collapse, identifying factors such as lack of leadership commitment, poor communication, resistance from employees, and absence of a structured approach. These challenges highlight the importance of managing change effectively.

To address these challenges, Mr. Mohanty emphasized the need for managing the people side of change. He explained that successful change management requires a structured approach that balances mindset, skillset, and environment. Organizations must focus on developing the right attitudes, capabilities, and supportive systems to drive change.

The session concluded with an engaging question-and-answer segment, where students clarified their doubts regarding change management, leadership roles, and transformation in organizations.
