To have regular Guest Lectures and Alumni Talks on important developments in Operations to turn challenges into opportunities upon entering the corporate world.

Event Name: OP$ESSION|| Date of Event: 26th September 2021.
Brief description:
To introduce the basics of the concepts of the specialization Operations Management to the students of the batch 2021-2023, Academic Week 1.0 had been planned and organized using the basic concepts of Lean Management. It was a 2-round event.
Round 1 consisted of quiz where basic questions related to operations management were posed to the batch 2021-2023 through MCQ’s.
Round 2 was a situation based round given to the students to find suitable lean tool/concept that can be used as a solution.

To add more value to the digital learning, Operations Club had arranged a guest lecture which would be a platform for all the MBA students to understand key concepts of Analytics and its career opportunities prevailing under the new norms in the corporate world.
The event went in the direction of how the world is changing faster and how data science is at the heart of it, discussed the importance of digital transformation, how companies are adopting analytics, skills, and job profiles in the field, what career is like in analytics, and how important is communication in the same.
Event Name: Guest lecture on “Challenges in Lean Implementation in Bosch and the success story” by Mr. Mukund Karadkhedkar.

Brief description:
To add more value to the digital learning, OP$-ERA had arranged a guest lecture which would be a platform for all the MBA Operations students to understand key concepts of Lean Management, its implementation in Bosch and the success story that followed.
The lecture focused on various lean management obstacles that come in the way of an organization, how Bosch implemented the Bosch Production system (BPS), how it differs from company to company and how the roadmap should be implemented, and also how VSM, KPRs and KPIs are linked in the process, along with the importance of total productive maintenance and the value of collaboration.
Event Name: Ops-Aura on Firande 6.0. || Date of Event: 10th February 2022.

To introduce the basics of the concepts of the specialization Operations Management to the students of MBA/BBA/PGDM, “Ops-Aura” event was conducted in Firande 6.0, the flagship fest of SIBM Hyderabad that has been planned and organized using the basic concepts of Operations strategy, Logistics Management, Marketing, Digital Manufacturing and so on. It was a 3-round event.
Institute of Management Consultants of India Hyderabad Chapter had conducted best Summer Internship Project contest. MBA Students from more than 30 top Business Schools participated in this contest.
5 Students of SIBM Hyderabad, MBA 2017-19 Batch (Ajiya Hasan, Erica Fernandes, Rishi Kaul, Bhavi Vyas, Prashant Ghimre) participated in this contest and 4 were short listed to the final round.
Ms. Ajiya Hasan and Ms. Erica Fernandes won the First and Second place in this event. They were awarded a cash prize of Rs 25,000 and Rs 15, 000 along with certificate and Trophy.
SIBM Hyderabad Family congratulates both the star performers.
SIBM-Hyderabad conducted a 5-day workshop on Advanced Supply Chain Management from 10th to 15th February, 2016. The lecture was conducted by our esteemed guest Prof. V G Venkatesh, faculty in supply chain and logistics, SIBM – Bangalore. The topic of discussion ranged from “International Logistics – Export/Import procedures and INCO Terms” to “Warehouse Management” and concluded with discussion on “Procurement Cycle.” Prof. Venkatesh emphasized on the growth of International Logistics around the world and the latest developments in International Trade. He also spoke about how Warehouse Management methods have changed from being traditional to becoming more technology-driven.
The academic clubs of SIBM-Hyderabad added another feather to their caps by organizing another of the best events as a part of the IT week celebrations that commenced from 20th September and went on till 23rd September.
The whole week was marked by different fun filled events and competitions that made the students get a gist of the real corporate manners in a playful way.
OP$-ERA – The Operations Club of SIBM-H ended the IT week with their event called “Op-Rewind” on 23rd September. The out-of-the-box theme of the event, where the participants were made to re-connect with their childhood, is what made it a success.
